ANGELS FELL
FIRST
BUT I'M STILL HERE
Likes: Reading, learning anything, watching people, loves animals of any kind.
Dislikes: Rude people, people who lie, loosing a case.
Strengths: Due to her ability to see people’s auras she can tell when someone is lying. This helps her win a case and choose clients to represent. It also helps her find the people who have committed a crime, even after the cops have lost the trail.
Weaknesses: Her mouth tends to work faster than her mind. She will often say something that gets her into trouble before figuring a way to get out of it. Her passion for helping the underdog also has her working long hours to help solve near impossible cases.
Powers & Abilities: She is able to see people’s “soul color”. Their auras glow around them like a shadow that allows her to detect their mood, intentions, and sometimes even when they lie (if they feel badly about lying)
Power/Physical Weakness: She is unable to shut off her gift, making everyone she sees become bathed in a color according to their mood or thoughts. Despite her talented eyes, she is human. Anything that can hurt everyday people can hurt her as well.
Personality: Maia is a sweet person, but easy to anger. Her talent for observation of other people, gives her an advantage at times. She can quickly decide who to be nice to and who to watch carefully. Though she normally keeps to herself you might be able to find her caring for the homeless or volunteering on her off days. She has a short fuse when it comes to people who are rude or who lie to her. She is quick witted and rarely takes no for an answer. Her job as a defense lawyer makes her keep a hard shell toward other people, but she often shows them compassion and love when allowed the chance. On the other side, when she is angry you better run. Her mouth isn’t the only thing quick to act. She is a strong fighter and wont stop swinging until shes down for the count.

Siblings:None
Other Important People:Sister Julian
Place of Upbringing: Born in Brooklyn she was give up to a church based orphanage shortly after birth
History: A stormy night brought Maia into the world. Though she could not remember her birth the story of how she came to be at the chapel was often told. Mid October Maia had been handed over to Mother Mary’s (generic name yes, but nothing is simple about this place.) Maia was placed in the care of a young nun named Julian. Julian became a mother to the infant, raising her and making sure she was well taught in the ways of the world.
At the age of 3, when Maia’s words could be fully understood, she started telling Sister Julian that people had “color”. The nuns couldn’t understand what the young child meant, and everyone dismissed her as wanting attention; everyone but Julian. Years of working with Maia Julian finally understood what the little girl was seeing.
At the age of 5 Maia’s gift was proven to be useful. The nuns had brought in a older man from the streets and though the children were normally kept away from strangers, Maia’s curiosity got the better of her. She watched the man, a blood red color oozing off him like vapor. She instantly ran to Julian to tell her what she saw and felt. After Julian calmed Maia down she took the girl to the head nun. Once again after telling her story the nun dismissed her and banned her from going to the man again. Later that night the whole chapel woke to the sounds of gun fire. Julian swept up Maia and fled the building, already knowing the man they had taken in had opened fire on the congregation in the middle of the night. Though no one was able to discern why the man opened fire there were several theories. The police thought the man was merely disturbed, seeing how he took his own life in the end; whereas the overly religion nuns thought the man was possessed. Julian took her own ideas with her, telling only Maia that she believed the man meant no harm to anyone else, he merely wanted to scare the people away before taking his life alone.
For weeks after the incident Maia didn’t speak. She knew, no matter what she said, no one would believe her about the colors she saw. The color’s Julian called “soul shades”.
Once the chapel was reopened every nun except Julian feared her. The rest of her years she spent in the orphanage she only made friends with the new children, to have them turn away from her after her story was told to them. Even with the loneliness she was a happy child, Julian saw to that.
Upon her 18th birthday she was released from the chapel as an adult. She remained there until graduating high school, then moved on to college within the next fall on scholarships. She used her gift in law school to pick good and bad cases for her superiors to follow. She never mentioned why she was so good at detention lies and truth, but her talent got her noticed early in training.
At age 23 she was brought into a law firm in New York permanent as an understudy. After winning several cases for her boss she was given an official job at the firm, even though her degree wasn’t exactly legit. Between working and keeping up her classes to get an official degree her life is pretty stable. She has been there ever since.
She didn’t start her night crime fighting until she was asked to forfeit a case on purpose. She knew the man she was set to represent was innocent, but the police needed a scapegoat to end a cold case. She refused and won the case, setting the man free. The true criminal was never caught, making her turn to finding the guilty man before the police. Though she has yet to find the man who she was after she quickly learned her gift could prevent crimes by stopping the people before they committed a crime.
The first few attempts of trying to bring down someone ended in disaster, normally with her getting her backside handed to her. She quickly learned she needed better defense. She took a few classes offered by the local police on self-defense. She added a few karate lessons and more importantly a hand gun permit and she was on a up hill battle. Even with her brains and very little brawn, she normally calls the police to gather up the criminal before trying to track the perp herself.
THIS IS THE BIRTH
OF ALL HOPE
TO HAVE WHAT I ONCE HAD
Your Name:Dawn
Age:21
Experience:Yeeeears of RPing

RP Sample: Maia took a deep breath, pulling the steam from her coffee into her nose to savor the scent. It had been a long day, one case after another was being thrown onto her plate, she lost important paper work and to top it off the only thing she had to look forward to was going home to a cat who hated her. She shook her head and sighed to herself. She looked up from her cooling drink and watched a couple snuggling at a table in the corner.
Maia smiled slightly as she traced the colors their bodies gave off. The young woman had a pale green glow about her that traced up into a mild purple and circled into her male partner’s shades. The young man’s body let off a gold light, once again vaporizing up into purple tips. Their love showed clearly, not only by their affectionate posture, but by the violet hue their souls pushed toward each other.
Maia’s eyes took a quick turn when a vision of red walked by her. A man, mid thirties with graying hair, shoved his way into the small restaurant. His eyes were kept low, showing his intentions were clearly not innocent. He trudged past Maia and sat in the booth behind her. The bloody shade that bubbled around him trickled into her line of sight even when she wasn’t looking directly at him.
With the risk of getting caught, Maia turned to look at the man. The man seemed to be only five feet at the most, his heavy shoulders hung around him as if his shame was to much to bare. His silver rimmed glasses just barely covered his large, sulking eyes. He studied the menu, but even Maia knew his mind was elsewhere.
As a waitress walked by the man looked up, muttered a girl’s name and waited. When the waitress nodded and pointed to the back of the restaurant Maia knew something was going to happen and it wasn’t going to be a love fest. She waited for the waitress to leave and placed a few bills on the table for her coffee. She took in a deep breath and rose to her feet. She calmly walked over to the man, placing her hand on the table. When he looked up at her she didn’t hesitate.
“Whatever it is, don’t do it.” She said, her voice low, but forceful. “I’m not sure what you’re planning, but I know it isn’t good. Whatever reason you’re here to see that girl, I know it isn’t going to help her or yourself. So do yourself a favor, walk out that door, and rethink what you’re about to do.”
The man’s blank stare of confusion and anger caused his color of blood to waver into a mild yellow before coming back into a full fire of red. “You don’t know anything, girly. So go back to your table and leave me alone.”
Maia didn’t budge. Apparently years of dealing with jerks was paying off. She leaned a little closer and looked him in the eye. This was a long shot, but it was worth the try. “I’ll call the cops.”
This simple line was meant to make the man go home… but it had a different effect. The man suddenly shot up from his seat, his hand moved for his jacket and within seconds a gun was pointing at Maia. Well… so much for trying to play the nice guy.
