Clark is nerdy and overtly trusting but extremely loyal. These qualities make him a very good friend, both to his co-workers at the Daily Planet and otherwise. Superman is trustworthy, charismatic, and always seeing the best in people, which makes him a trusted ally even to the most pessimistic of heroes.
L O V E R S !
Clark had a lover once - two, actually. His first was Lana Lang, his high school sweetheart, who he left back in Smallville in order to help the world. The second was Lois Lane, who due to various events chose Lex Luthor over him. After having spent the last three years underground, he's been single for quite awhile, so I'd be open to exploring this aspect.

Considered to be the hero's hero, Superman is right at the top of the hit list for many supervillains. But with his charismatic and inspiring personality, it's hard for most on the side of good to hate him in the least. Many villains will be under here, but not too many heroes.
