Alistair awoke in the late morning, which was unusual for him. But, after being shot only last night he figured his body could do with some extra rest. He tossed the covers off of his body and swung around to put his feet on the floor. He just sat there on his full-sized bed for a moment before eventually standing. The platinum blonde man yawned as he moved into the bathroom, which was connected directly to his bedroom. Before checking his hair or brushing his teeth he took a look at the bandage the nun had put on him yesterday. He could see only a small blood stain, which was a good sign. He tore the bandage off his shoulder and checked himself out in the mirror. He smiled and gave a little nod. The wound had fully healed overnight, just as he thought it would.
As the day went on Mr. Price went through his daily exercises and training, had his breakfast and lunch, and then he thought about her... Maia, the strange and beautiful young woman he had met last night almost in the same moment he got shot. ~What a way to meet a girl.~ He thought to himself, a faint grin on his face. She had given him her phone number so that they could make plans for the following night, which had surprised Alistair. But, what shocked him even more was when she openly admitted to flirting with him. There he was, a good ten to fifteen years older than this girl, granted he didn't look it, but this bird was still into him. This all seemed a bit odd to him; Price wasn't used to hot young women flirting with him... Or maybe he just didn't pay attention.
Alistair took the napkin from his pocket, which had Maia's number on it. He hadn't bothered to change out of his pants last night, he was just too worn out. He then moved into the kitchen, picked up the house phone, and stared at the number pad for a little while. ~Should I call? I mean, is it too early? It's not even three yet. Then again, it would be sort of inconsiderate to call too late. She might make plans if I call in the evening. But, what if she's busy right now? Bugger! I should have called at lunch time. People are usually available to talk at lunch time. Bloody hell, Alistair! Shut up and call her!~ The mutant sighed, collected himself, and then dialed the number. He put the receiver near his ear and waited for Maia to answer.

Maia shook her head, hiding a laugh at the teenager by her side. The young girl was rambling on about boys and the needed clothing and make to attract them. Maia had made the mistake of telling Amy about Alistair; well actually Julian brought him up and left Maia to the wrath of preteens and teenage girls that over heard the conversation.
The morning had started off with a bus load of grumpy, half asleep kids. Though the mood changed quickly Maia couldn’t get her mind onto her duties of helping Julian with the kids. Her distracted mood hadn’t gone unnoticed. As she stared off into space, trying to understand why she had gotten suddenly bold the night before and told Alistair she was flirting with him, Julian had thrown a pamphlet at her. Now with her attention to the nun she knew she was about to get the third degree. Flashing a large smile she explained to Julian what had happened the night before at the dinner… this, of course, was heard by Amy.
Maia shook her head and cleared the fading memory away before turning back to her young friend. “I don’t know,” Maia said with a smile, “I don’t think he’s the frilly type. He seemed pretty down to earth, thankfully.”
The young girl shrugged and was about to add a little more advice when a tiny girl broke free from the crowd and took hold of Maia’s hand. “Maia, will you help me and Alex climb on the rocks?”
Maia, welcoming the change of subject, shrugged to Amy and followed the young child. As soon as she made it to the large stones the museum had laid out for children to learn about minerals and the earth, her phone rang. She quickly fished the small cell phone from her pocket and flicked it open.
“Hello?” She said, not even paying attention to the number. She grabbed the little girl’s hand and helped her up onto a platform as she waited on an answer.

The phone rang once and Alistair's nerves rattled. His confidence was nowhere to be found at the moment, and for reasons he could not yet grasp. Why was he acting this way? Where was his usual cool and grinning self? Who was this nervous man tapping his foot rapidly as he waited for somebody to answer on the other end of the line? The phone rang twice now, and Price sighed as he attempted to calm himself. ~Easy, Alistair. You'll be fine.~ He thought. ~Hopefully... Oh lord. Maybe I should just hang up now. Y'know, collect myself?~ Then someone answered. ~Oh bugger.~ There were a couple seconds of silence before the mutant realized he would have to follow through now or have her think of him as some sort of weirdo from here on out.
"Hi." His anxiety was bleeding into his voice a bit, but he quickly got it under control. "Uh, sorry. Uh, this is Alistair from last night." He said as commonly and calmly as he could. "I was just..." Alistair paused briefly, hearing the voices of children in the background. "Do I hear kids?" Was this a bad time? Should he have called in the evening? What was she doing? Then it came back to him--a memory of last night. She had said she would be helping Julian with the orphan kids the next day, but he couldn't recall the time she said she would be doing that. Had she given a time? Did she tell him when she was going to be busy with the children? ~Bloody...~ Price fought back a sigh of frustration. ~Great. She probably told me not to call at this hour, and I've forgotten. Now she's going to think I don't pay any attention to what she says.~

“Oh, hi.” She said quickly, perhaps too quickly. She gave a small cough and tried to control the excitement in her words. “Oh, yea, we are at the end of the museum. We’re about to head back… I’m surprised you called.” She told him bluntly, her voice oozing with sheer pleasure that he actually made the effort to call her.
She paced nervously, getting a giggle from Amy as the girl watched her. Maia rolled her eyes and tried not to grin. “So… I trust you slept well… I mean, you sound rested…” She bit her lip. Gosh this crazy rambling problem she had was going to make her sound like a nut job. She shook her thoughts away and ran her fingers through her hair to sooth her nerves.
Maia looked up and gave a small nod as Julian signaled for her to help load the kids up. “Umm, I’m actually about to head back… “ Oh, just ask him. Her mind shouted. “I know you mentioned showing me something later… Would you like to go for a walk or something before?” She couldn’t come up with anything better to offer at the moment. She just liked the idea of being around him. There was something about him that drew her in. He was interesting to say the least, but something else was drawing her in.
She gave a quick clap to get the kids moving and took the little girl’s hand to help her down from the rocks. “I mean, if you’re not to busy or anything… and if the offer still stands for tonight.” She bit her lip and forced back a smile. “Sorry, I know I ramble.” She let a small giggle slip before hushing it back into remission.

The excitement in the girl's voice was reassuring, and her rambling helped to bring back the old confident Alistair Price. He grinned crookedly, and just listened to her for a little while. ~So, she is busy. Yet, she answered, and is taking the time to talk with me.~ He thought to himself. ~That's a good sign.~
"I slept okay." He said in response to her inquiry about how he slept. He was quiet again after that, just listening to Maia. To his surprise the young woman propositioned him with a meeting before the night's festivities. ~Well, well.~ Maia went on a brief ramble, and then apologized at the end. Alistair just chuckled quietly. "Yeah, I was actually calling to see what time you wanted to head out. I figured just after sundown, but if another time works better for you, I can make it work." He said calmly, his composure fully regained. "As for meetin' beforehand, that sounds fine. Just tell me when and where."
If they were going to meet in the day that would mean Price would need to come back to his place later, before nightfall, to change. The night he had in mind entailed a few activities that would require a certain attire. Alistair had a good feeling about this night--at the very least it was going to be interesting.

Maia stepped onto the bus, covering one ear to block out the sound of the children talking and playing as they waited for the trip to end. She took a seat up front and watched Julian counting the kids before answering him. “Well, I’ll be free about 6 or so… How about we meet at Greenacre park? It’s not as big as Central park, but it’s a lot safer at night.” She suggested over the roar of children. “Hey, it’s kind of hard to hear over the kids can I call you back later… or just meet you, lets say at 7?”
She knew she should wait for his answer, but with the children calling to one another and hopping from seat to seat it was hard to concentrate. She smiled ay Julian as she gave the thumbs up to the bus driver and the tanker of orphans started back. She had a few more things to do before she was anywhere near ready to meet Alistair. She had to cook dinner, review a few more files she was running behind on it, find something to wear… oh lord what am I going to wear?!
Maia quickly turned around and found Amy; the pleading and shocked look in her eyes must have been enough to give the hint to the teenager because the ear splitting grin gave Maia enough reassurance to know, if nothing else, she was going to look good for their outing tonight. “So…. What do you say? Greenacre park at 7?” She gave her voice the verbal equivalent of the puppy dog eyes.

(OOC: So sorry for taking this long! I've had some work emergencies to tend to the last few days.)
Alistair thought on her words for a moment. ~Seven in the evening should be just late enough. It'll be getting dark about then.~ Price moved into his bedroom, his eyes fixed on the coat rack in the corner, and on it was his Basilisk trench coat. "Yeah. Seven O' clock, Greenacre Park." He said with a grin. "Oh, and wear something you can move in." He added with just a hint mischief in his tone. "See you later." Alistair hung up the phone after waiting a couple second for Maia to either hang up or say bye, and then he went ahead and started to lay out his outfit.
The animorph took out his leather-like pants with the lizard decals on the legs. He placed the pants on the bed, and then walked over to his closet, slid the mirrored door over and pulled out a black T-shirt. He put the shirt above the pants, and then he took his belt from off the nightstand and tossed it on top of the pants. Alistair stripped off his clothes as he moved into the bathroom, letting them fall wherever. He turned on the shower, and made sure the water wasn't too hot or too cold, but just above room temperature. He didn't do well with extreme temperatures--it was a lizard thing. He stepped into the shower, pulled the curtain, and proceeded to wash his hair, body, and get the dried blood off of his shoulder. He wasn't in for very long, maybe fifteen minutes, and then he dried himself off, got dressed, and moved into his living room. He still had quite a bit of time to kill before he went to meet Maia, so he kicked back and turned on his PS3, and played through Street Fighter IV a few times.
Finally, 6:30 rolled around, and Mr. Price smiled with anticipation. He went back to his room, threw on his dark green coat with the image of a basilisk head on the back, and then he rushed out the door. He locked the door behind him, and then made his way up to the roof. Usually he would take a cab, but in this particular outfit he didn't think that would be wise. True, he wasn't as well known as Spider-Man or something, but when you're a vigilante you can never tell who might be your enemy. So, better safe than sorry.
Alistair, with his superhuman speed and agility made his way to the park by jumping from one rooftop to another, and he made it there with five minutes to spare. Luckily there was some good wind way up there, so he didn't break a sweat and make his earlier shower pointless. Just before reaching Greenacre Park he jumped down onto a street light, slid down, and walked the rest of the way. "Alright... Now how are we gonna find each other?" He thought aloud, standing on the walkway and glancing around a bit.

(You’re ok my friend. I’ve been working a lot too! Lol)
“Something I can move in?... Ok, got it! I’ll see you then.” Maia hung up the phone and smiled to herself. She wasn’t sure it she was happy to be getting out or happy to be going out once again with Alistair. Oh who was she kidding she was in sheer bliss of meeting him again. She tucked her phone away and waited to arrive back at the school.
As soon as the bus trudged to a stop Amy hopped up behind Maia, chattering away about the new outfits she had in mind. Maia couldn’t help but to laugh and followed the teen. It was nice to have a little help, she was clueless on dating… was this a date? She shook her head and cleared the thought. She would put a label on it later.
The hours seemed to fly by, though the paper work she was buried in didn’t. As she was putting the last file away Amy burst into the room and threw a pair of black stretch jeans at Maia.
“These, and this,” she threw a white V-cut blouse at Maia’s head, “with these shoes.”
Maia laughed and pulled the jeans off her face just in time to catch the blouse right to the forehead. She pulled the shirt away from her face and looked at it. “Don’t you think it’s a little low cut?” Maia grinned.
“No, you have a figure and need to show it off… And I have a jacket that goes over it. It dark so you can go sneaking around with your new guy…. What? Oh like you thought I didn’t know! I know your weirdness so I figured he was just as weird.” Amy teased.
Maia laughed. She had shared only a little of her gift with Amy, but it was enough for the young girl to catch on. “I guess.” She eyed the shoes, thick boots, but flat soles with tread so she could run and jump without a problem. She looked at the clock, her heartbeat picking up a little. She had only an hour to meet him. She gave a dramatic stretch and looked over at Amy. “I guess you want me to change?”
Amy gave her a look that said it all. Maia did was she was told and went to change. She came back into the room a moment later, tucking her hair into a pony tail. “What do you think?”
Amy gave a thumbs up and grinned ear to ear. “You’re hot, and still up tight. Only you can pull off that look.”
Maia laughed and stuck her tongue out at the girl. “I got to go… wish me luck!” She called as she headed for the door, grabbing the black jacket on her way out. ***
Maia arrived at the park, her senses tingling with the fresh scent of new earth and the cool breeze forming around her. She sighed happily and looked around. Off to the corner of the park stood Alistair. She twiddled her thumbs and headed in his direction. Hopefully Amy’s idea of a good outfit wasn’t to far off.

(OOC: Sorry it's tiny. I'm kinda recovering from being awake for 36 hours. -_- )
Alistair stood there for a moment, just glancing about until he felt someone approaching him. His eyes flashed between lizard-like and human once, and then he turned and saw Maia coming toward him. He smiled crookedly. The mutant gave her a quick look up and down, admiring the form fitting outfit and V-neck top she was wearing. ~You dirty old man.~ An expression of slight anger came to his face for only a second as he looked away from Maia. "Shut up, brain." He whispered, and then grinned at Ms. Veronna again. He took a few steps in her direction, stopping only a couple feet in front of her.
"Nice outfit." He said as he glanced at he jacket real quick. "So, what'd you have in mind for this little pre-date walk?" A hint of fear seeped into Alistair's calm and suave expression as he quickly realized he had called tonight a date. ~Oh bugger! You bloody idiot.~ Price collected himself, wiping the fear from his face. "Sorry. That was presumptuous of me." His tone was laid back and gentle, as it usually was.

Maia fought the urge to blush at the mention of her outfit. “You look good yourself. The color brings out your eyes.” She shrugged a little and smiled when made the slip and called it a date. She shifted a little and tugged her jacket on. “I thought this was a date.” She said, her voice showing she was secretly enjoying the fact he said it first.
She gave him another award winning smile. “I just thought we could walk around.” She added quickly, so the mention of the word date would fade into the back ground. “I figured we could get a feel for each other’s… gifts, powers, whatever you want to call them.” She gave a small cough. You’re rambling again, shh! Her brain shouted.
“I mean I would like to learn a little more about what you do… anyway, you said you had something planned?” We’ll never mind, I’m going to ramble, lets just hope he either ignores it or thinks its cute. She snuggled onto her jacket and waited, her lips sealed before she started rambling again.
