ANGELS FELL
FIRST
BUT I'M STILL HERE
Likes: Punk music, rock music pre-90s, dark clothing, leather, classic cars, fighting, strong women, seeing justice served, playing cards, relaxing with a book and a drink after a long day, training, dojos, Johnny Yong Bosch, Andre Arlovski, video games, and anime.
Dislikes: People who can’t spell properly and/or use terrible grammar, pop culture, winey girls, bad guys getting off the hook, Brock Lesner, snobbery, cats, his brother.
Strengths: His years of martial arts training has not only helped him become a better fighter, but also helps him keep a level head in most situations that would have most people in a frenzy. He can block out virtually anything and focus in on only what he needs to, even when in pain. Alistair has reached a level in his mental training where he can ignore serious wounds to continue with whatever task he needs to accomplish.
Alistair is naturally good at detecting danger, almost like a sixth sense from his reptilian mutation. Though this sense is far from superhuman, it is noteworthy.
Weaknesses: His ability to sense danger has at times made him seem skittish, and occasionally scares people off.
Sometimes he can become too focused on a task, forgetting everything else. His tendency to focus so intensely on his opponent in battle has often resulted in the destruction of property and injuring civilians.
Powers & Abilities: Alistair gets his codename from his power to transform into the basilisk lizard, at least partially. He takes on a half lizard/half man appearance, and takes on the traits of a basilisk.
- Superhuman Performance - This ability is always active, but is increase when in his reptilian form. His speed, strength, agility, and durability are drastically higher than an average man. He is able to jump several stories high, and throw one ton at full strength. He can move with incredible speed and grace, capable of running across water without sinking.
- Healing Factor/Longevity – His reptilian traits also include a bit of a healing factor, which also makes it so he doesn’t quite age as fast as most people. He heals faster than normal people, and over a very long period of time he could recover a limb, but his healing factor is nothing compared to Wolverine’s.
- Reptilian Transformation – Alistair’s main power is transforming into a reptile-like man. His form is like that of a green basilisk lizard with human resemblance. In this form he has claws that allow him to cut through thick wood and also enable him to climb most surfaces. His other powers are stronger by 20% (putting him at full strength) in this form. His scales also act as light armor, capable of withstanding some blade slashes.
- Martial Arts Training – Alistair has been well trained in Ronin Goju Karate, Muay Thai, and Jiu Jistu, making him a very formidable opponent.
Power/Physical Weakness: In his basilisk form he is more vulnerable to extreme heat and extreme cold, just like a lizard. High heat causes him to weaken and pass out if it’s intense enough. Cold will stiffen him up, and if it gets too cold he will die.
Outside of his lizard form he is still rather susceptible to knife wounds, bullets, and et cetera.
Personality: Alistair is usually a pretty cool and collected guy, even though he gives people the impression that he’s skittish because of his tendency to jolt slightly and/or turn his head when he hears a loud noise. He has something of a sixth sense for danger, even if it’s little, so he does seem slightly paranoid at times.
He likes working out and training, especially if he has a partner. He enjoys being around people, as long as they’re friendly, but if not he usually just leaves. He isn’t much for wasting time with people he doesn’t like. Underneath his tough-guy appearance is a very sensitive friend, who will listen to your troubles for hours, and let you crash on his couch if you need to. He also has a very serious side to him, where nothing can shake him short of the world ending, but then he also loves to watch anime and play video games. Sometimes he can be just like a big ol’ kid and then turn around and be cool and ready for combat. So, in a nutshell, he’s one part serious protector, one part child, a little bit animal, and one part sensitive friend.

Mother: Iris Kay Price
Father: Rupert Alistair Price
Siblings: David Alexander Price (older brother)
Other Important People: Sensei Charlie Giles (martial arts instructor), Sarah Heacock (long time friend), John Lewis (best friend)
Place of Upbringing: London, England
History:
Alistair was born in London six years after his brother, David. His family was originally from Yorkshire, but had moved when David turned three because Rupert’s employers wanted to transfer him. Mr. Price was in the business of hotel management. Mr. Price made a good living, enough that Mrs. Price wasn’t required to work and could dedicate her time to raising her children.
For the most part Alistair lived a normal life. His family was well-off, but not rich. His brother and he attended private school, where they were forced to wear the most awful uniforms. The two went to different schools, but neither liked their uniforms. Alistair was quite young when he started attending grade school—only four years old. He was bright, but not to where one might call him gifted.
Life was calm and pleasant, aside from David’s bullying. The age difference proved to be quite a problem for the brothers, and worried Iris. She had feared this when she became pregnant with Alistair, but the optimist in her wouldn’t let her dwell on it. However, it was clear now that something needed to be done. She tried time and time again to sit them down and talk to them about their problems, but David was too rebellious. Even at the young age of ten he was becoming a problem child, whereas Alistair was the exact opposite. This difference in their personalities only made David want to bully Alistair more. He called him a mommas-boy, a wimp, and a bunch of other hurtful names. It went on for years, even after Rupert reprimanded him.
As time went on Alistair became a very angry child, unable to fight back against his oppressor. Seeing his frustration, Mr. Price decided to put his youngest into martial arts classes under an old friend of his. Sensei Charlie Giles was a well respected man in the martial artist community as a black belt in the arts of karate, jiu jistu, and muay thai. Alistair was only seven, and Charlie didn’t usually take in anybody under the age of ten. However, seeing as how Rupert was largely responsible for getting him through college he went ahead and took Alistair as a student. Alistair was a quick study, not only in his school work, but also in martial arts. He loved going to the dojo and training, especially since he didn’t have many friends outside the dojo. People had a tendency to think he was kind of weird because he was always looking around, and would jerk at any sudden noises much like a lizard. Some people thought he was paranoid, but Sensei Giles called it being alert; he liked that. It wasn’t often that Alistair heard somebody praise him, he was used to David putting him down and pushing him around. But, he didn’t have to worry about that there.
At ages 13 and 19 something uncanny happened. Alistair & David had been left home alone for a few hours while their parents were out at a cocktail party. Alistair had been going through a growth spurt, putting him at 5’8”, whereas his older brother had inherited his mother’s short stature and was still 5’8” at age 19. The two were almost the same size in muscle mass, David being only about ten pounds heavier. Anyways, a simple argument over the TV remote escalated into a bestial fight for dominance. The boys felt an animal inside of them longing to be released. Furniture was smashed by the unreal strength of both boys, but especially David. Alistair’s abilities seemed to be more geared toward agility rather than brute strength—even so he was quite strong. After a few minutes the boys had changed, David taking on a form resembling an alligator and Alistair looking more like a basilisk lizard. When their parents finally got home they found their sons unconscious in a trashed living room and still in their reptilian forms. Needless to say, they were shocked. Neither one of them were mutants, but… Iris suddenly remembered her father had exhibited some mutant abilities such as unnatural strength, but she had never seen him transform into a half-lizard creature, and now her father was dead, so there would be no asking him.
When the boys awoke they involuntarily changed back to normal. Again, their parents were stunned. But, even so they chewed them out good for wrecking the house. Then they separated them and got both stories of what happened. However, much of the event was a blur, which could have been caused by the craze of fighting or the being knocked out.
After that night the two of them were not to be left by themselves—their parents didn’t want to risk having them trying to kill each other. But, that just didn’t seem to be enough. The two had grown to detest each other over the years, and now with this animal inside of them it was just too much. Petty arguments over cheating at cards or one of them eating the last bag of potato chips turned into predator Vs. predator on Animal Planet. They carried on like that for nearly a year, and then Mr. & Mrs. Price decided that they had no other choice but to remove the agitation. Thus, they gave David two months to get a job, get a place of his own, and move out. David, having no real skills or motivation, had a very hard time finding any work. Two months turned into three, and three became five, and then another year went by. Alistair’s parents were very kind, but at times they were simply too soft.
Alistair was going nuts in the meantime. He was doing his best not to fight with David at his mother’s request, but he was truly beginning to hate him. David got whatever he wanted, did whatever he wanted, mooched off his parents, wrecked the house, disobeyed, and yet he was still allowed to live in their house. It wasn’t right! He couldn’t take it anymore. Finally, he told his parents that if they couldn’t kick David out that he would. The overconfident older brother overheard the conversation, and another fight broke out right then and there. David was considerably stronger, yes, but Alistair’s years of training made for an easy victory. Alistair ended his relationship with his brother that night with three simple words: Don’t come back.
Finally free from his brother’s mocking and bullying Alistair was able to grow into a fine young man. He graduated middle school at the top of his class, and then his father got a request from the big wigs at his job to help open up a new chain in America. After discussing it with Alistair & Iris the family decided to move to the USA.
Alistair was thirteen, and starting high school in Florida. It was horribly hot, and when it wasn’t hot it was raining, but usually it was just hot. Alistair didn’t like it. It was probably a trait from his reptile side making him dislike the extreme heat, or maybe it was just his sanity telling him that 102 in the sun was completely ridiculous.
His shifty and seemingly skittish behavior scared off people here as well, but a couple people did take a liking to him. A couple thespians, Sarah & John, fell in love with his thick English accent, and the three quickly became friends. They stuck together all through High School and into college, where Sarah Heacock was studying to become a zoologist, John Lewis was going to try to be the next Governor of Florida, and Alistair just wanted to get his A.A. degree and maybe go back to England to finish his training under Sensei Giles, which is exactly what he did.
At the age of twenty-five Alistair Price had earned his black belts and was competing in competitions alongside his old friends from the dojo. However, when word got out that Alistair was a mutant he was forced to forfeit and never compete again. He had won five championships prior to that day.
The young mutant returned to America, where he found that John had given up on his dream of being a politician and gone back to his old dream of acting. John was on Broadway, trying to become a star, and making a pretty good go of it. Sarah on the other hand was still pursuing a career in zoology. Alistair, however, was unemployed. He still had some money from his winnings, but that wouldn’t last long. So, he started looking for something he’d be good at. But what was he good at? He could fight like a demon, but he wasn’t allowed to compete anymore. Then it came to him. He could hire himself out as private protection or security.
He got his first job as a security guard at a couple concerts, and he did pretty well. But, a few jobs later there was an incident where one big dude provoked him and he went all lizard-guy without meaning to. It was then that he realized he needed to get better control over his powers.
Alistair put himself on a strict training schedule, even stricter than his usual one. He got up just before dawn and spent an hour working on transforming at will. Afterward he would have breakfast, rest twenty minutes, and then get back to training. Three hours were dedicated to training in human form and using his powers, and then another two hours for training in his lizard form. After all that he would warm down and then sleep. Because Alistair was freelance he was able to dedicate entire days to getting control of his powers, but when he worked he only spent about half as much time training. Over the years he mastered his powers, learning their weaknesses and strengths.
By the age of 28 he made up his mind to help society. He figured he had been given these powers for a reason, so he planned to do something more useful with them. He took up the name Basilisk and took to the streets of Tampa one night clad in black. He wore a big leather trench coat, knee high boots, jeans, and a T-shirt. He prevented two small robberies, a purse snatcher, and a couple muggers. It was a good night for the new hero, and many nights like it would follow.
Alistair kept up his freelance career as Private Protection and moonlighted as the black clad Basilisk. His black costume was replaced in later years by a dark green trench coat with a gray outline of a basilisk’s head on the back. He kept the big boots and T-shirt, but replaced his jeans with a pair of leather-like black pants with one big lizard decal on each leg.
When the Acts were made official Alistair decided to lay low, and just do a bit of vigilante work now and then when he saw fit, not wanting to draw the attention of SHIELD. But, he did anyways. He was on the run for a while, occasionally having to fend off whatever agents managed to catch up with him, but after a while he decided that he was done running. He made himself known in the state of Florida and the rest of America, fighting crime in broad daylight in his lizard form. The government came, but they weren’t about to catch Basilisk. He joined up with others who were fighting against the Acts, and even got to see Captain America up close a few times. Once it was all over he went back to his normal life of freelance Private Protection and moonlighting as a hero.

It was a cold night in Tampa--unusually cold. Alistair couldn’t stand it. He had gotten a little more used to the heat, so this sudden 50 degree weather wasn’t sitting well with him, plus it meant turning into his lizard form was pretty well out of the question tonight. ”Stupid cold.” He cursed the chill in the air as he walked along the rooftop in his big green trench coat. He was in costume tonight, which really wasn’t all that different from his normal clothing. But, Alistair had always kind of done things differently. He wasn’t about to wear tights, and masks messed up his peripheral vision, so that was a no go. But, at least he looked cool, right? I mean, who didn’t like a big billowy coat on a hero? No one, that’s who.
~Come on criminals. I know you’re out here. Just bloody show yourselves so I can get back home where it’s warm.~ He thought to himself, and then suddenly a crash and a bang caught his ear. His eyes widened and his head shot in the direction of the noises. He dashed off toward the commotion, leaping from one building to another until he came to an alleyway where a young man had just been gunned down by a couple thugs. A scowl came upon his face as he jumped down three stories and landed atop one of the thugs. He let out a cry before he became unconscious. His friend turned and stared at Basilisk in shock for a couple seconds, and then turned his pistol on him. ”You don’t wanna do that.”
”Oh yeah? Why not?” The young thug asked nervously.
”Cause after you pull that trigger…” Alistair’s right hand went green and claws came from his fingertips. ”I’ll tear your sodding arm off.” He replied, showing off his claws. The thug stared, obviously frightened, and then suddenly he was bent over and Basilisk’s shin was colliding with his groin. ”Or I’ll just kick you in the groin.” He added with a smile. He moved his leg away and let the man fall. He quickly changed his hand back to normal, and then raced to the wounded man. He check for a pulse, but there was nothing. The guy got hit in the heart, so there was nothing to be done aside from phone the police.
Basilisk rose to his feet and hung his head for the young man dead in the alleyway. He would call the cops as soon as he found a pay phone.
